    • This U.S. musket bayonet is in good condition but has an aged brown look to it. The brown metal color and the sockets are a mixture of gray metal and brown. The socket on the bayonet is clean inside without any cracks or splits on it and the the inspectors markings on the blade are crisp and along with the U S show well. There are two scratches on the face of the bayonet clearly shown in the photographs.   I have run my fingernail over it several times and they are two scratches and not cracks or splits in the blade. I have run my fingers over the three sides of the blade and found them to be in good condition.
